Innovation and the green economy at the Utrechtse Heuvelrug Municipality, the Netherlands
The project is meant to develop a “Green Economy” in the Utrechtse Heuvelrug by stimulating the innovations that reduce fossil energy use, the ecological foot print and biodiversity loss in the Utrechtse Heuvelrug.
The project is a consortium with University of Applied Sciences Utrecht, Amsterdam Business School and Wageningen UR. The Environmental Systems Analysis Group of Wageningen University and Research will estimate the social return on investments from innovations by medium sized companies located in the Utrechtse Heuvelrug.
Aim of the project
To develop a green economy by stimulating innovations by medium sized companies located in the Utrechtse Heuvelrug, province of Utrecht.
Method
Branding of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug as a green economy to attract more employment and tourism in a green economy. Stimulation of innovations by the existing companies in the region.
(Expected) Results
A new brand and at least 10 innovations by February 2014.
