Lumen, building number 100

Lumen means ‘light’ – an excellent name for this extraordinary building. It is located at the entrance of Wageningen campus. Lumen was the first building to be constructed for the new campus. Its design is centred around the building’s users and surroundings. Lumen is characterised by light, natural materials, greenery and water, on the inside as well as on the outside.

Lumen was created by the German architect Stefan Behnisch. He designed it to be a human-friendly building, which gives sensory experiences of the relationship between inside and outside. It provides evidence of the weather, the changing seasons, fresh air and the surrounding natural landscape.

Route

Signs directing you to Wageningen Campus are placed along all major access roads to Wageningen. Once on the campus, follow the ‘P-route’ to car park P1. Here (and at all the other main car parks) you will find signs with directions to the various buildings on the campus. Lumen's building number is 100.
