Student Awards
Students of the Wildlife Ecology and Conservation Group are eligible for receiving the following two awards:
- The Alfred Russel Wallace Award - this award will be bestowed once per year for the best Master's thesis. Only master's students fully or partially supervised by the Wildlife Ecology and Conservation Group are eligible, under the condition that they have handed in their thesis (final version).
- The Willem Barentsz Award - this award will be bestowed once per year for the best field work leading to a Master's thesis. Only students fully or partially supervised by the Wildlife Ecology and Conservation Group are eligible, under the condition that they have handed in their thesis (final version).
The value of the Alfred Russel Wallace Award is 150 euro.
The value of the Willem Barentsz Award is 150 euro.
The recipient(s) of the award can spend the money as she/he/they see(s) fit. The award can be shared between two or more students who have worked together. For fiscal reasons the recipient(s) cannot receive cash or funds in a bank account. She/he/they will be reimbursed for her/his/their expenditure to a maximum value equal to 150 euro upon presentation to the administration of a receipt of his/their/her expenditure to maximally the amount of the award. Expenditure should be done within 6 months of the awarding of the prize. No receipt will be accepted by the administration after that time.
