Investigating the optimal Daily Light Integral for Bok Choy grown in vertical farms
At present energy (electricity) use and costs (both investment and running costs) are high in vertical farms. Improving the light use efficiency (yield per light input) would directly reduce both energy use and costs. One part of interest is the effect of the DLI on the plant growth. Plant growth will be specified by the photosynthesis, and by using phenotyping sensors and cameras, among other measurements. You will be helping in setting up the right sensors, performing your own measurements and learning how to use different analysis.
Used skills
- Photosynthesis
- Phenotyping sensors
- Image analysis
- Plant growth and development measurements
