Buildings of the Laboratory of Nematology

Buildings of the Laboratory of Nematology
Oostenbrink and his staff were first housed in the “Fyto II building” (a part of the brick wing of the old Virology building). In 1964 they moved to a wooden barrack on the Binnenhaven grounds. In the early morning of June 14th 1973 this building of the newly established Department of Nematology was completely destroyed by fire. (>> More pictures of the fire)

In December 1974 -after a period of having been scattered over various locations in Wageningen- Oostenbrink and his staff moved into the old building of the Laboratory of Phytopathology at Binnenhaven 10. From September 1993 a part of the expanding staff was housed on the ground floor of the new (and adjacent) Virology building at Binnenhaven 11.

In December 2001 our group moved from these two locations to the nearby building at Binnenhaven 5.

In May 2009 the whole group moved to a complete new building, called Radix, at Droevendaalsesteeg 1, which houses all Plant Sciences Groups of the Wageningen University and Research Center.
