Helicotylenchus

The plant hosts of the nematode genus Helicotylenchus include a width range of hosts, o.a. fruit crops, vegetables, agronomic crops, ornamental plants, forages, turfgrasses and weeds.

Plant-feeding nematode species can be mirgratory or sendentary, feeding either inside the host plant root (endoparasites) or outside the plant root (ectoparasites) and can cause serious economic damage to agricultural crops. The genus Helicotylenchus belongs to the ectoparasites.
