Meloidogyne duytsi Karssen, van Aelst & van der Putten, 1998
The root-knot nematode Meloidogyne duytsi is a common species in coastal front dunes in Western Europe. It parasitizes on grasses as Elymus Elytrigia farctus (sand couch-grass) and Ammophila arenaria (marram grass) and is adapted to the brackisch environment of the coastal front dunes. The root-knot nematode was named after mr. Henk Duyts (NIOO, The Netherlands), who found this species for the first time at Oostvoorne, the Netherlands.
