Nygolaimus brachyuris (de Man, 1880) Thorne, 1930 and Clavicaudatus clavicaudatus (Altherr, 1953) Heyns, 1968 belong to the Nygolaimidae Thorne, 1935. These nematodes are predators, i.e. they have one mural tooth in their head region. Both species are soil dwellers.
