Sclerolaimus paradoxus (Loof & Jairajpuri, 1968) Jairajpuri & Ahmed, 1992
The nematode species Sclerolaimus paradoxus (Loof & Jairajpuri, 1968) was originaly described as Tylencholaimus paradoxus. It was transferred in 1992 to the new (monotypic) genus Sclerolaimus by Jairajpuri & Ahmed, because of it’s straight odontophore and long cylindrus. Morphologically it is therefore more related to the genus Leptonchus Cobb, 1920.
Sclerolaimus paradoxus can be found in Europe (o.a. The Netherlands & Switzerland) in moist soils.
