Zeldia

The genus Zeldia Thorne, 1937 belongs to the family Cephalobidae Filipjev, 1934. The genus was named by Thorne in honour of his wife Zelda. A total of 19 species has been described, 14 species are considered as valid. Members of the genus Zeldia have deep primary axils between the lips possesing thorns, a low labial probolae and a short conoid-pointed tail. The cuticle is often ornamented with fine punctations. The cheilorhabdions usually have denticle-like processes. The tail is in females and males conoid with a pointed or finely rounded tail tip. (Gerrit Karssen)
