Global Yield Gap Atlas welcomes IFA as a Platinum sponsor
The Global Yield Gap Atlas (GYGA) team, comprising of Wageningen University & Research (WUR) and University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL), is proud to announce the International Fertilizer Association (IFA) as a Platinum sponsor of GYGA.
“GYGA is the world’s leading source of information on crop yield potential and yield gaps, which is critical for assessing future nutrient needs at global and national levels,” says Achim Dobermann, IFA Chief Scientist.

About Global Yield Gap Atlas
Global Yield Gap Atlas (GYGA), is an online global agronomic database platform for sustainable agriculture and resource use efficient agriculture. It contains locally-relevant data on yield gap, yield potential, and agronomic data (e.g. soil, crop management system) of the world’s key crops. Since 2011, GYGA offers high-quality and locally relevant data to public/private/non-profit actors to optimise yields and resource use efficiency.
GYGA is now covering ca. 70 countries with several and up to ten food crops. The platform has invited a broad usage up to 2021 with approximately 18,000 data downloads across public, private, and non-profit actors globally. The data are widely used for research, R&D investments and scenario analyses on future food security.
The income from sponsorship and licenses is used to maintain the database and the website and extend its coverage in terms of crops, countries, and indicators.
GYGA is fully accessible as a FAIR data source. All data are available under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International License. This means that data are available for FREE for non-commercial purposes. For commercial use of the data, the private company needs to pay for either a 'Commercial license fee' or a 'Sponsorship fee'.
