Project

QUantiAGREMI

Within quantiAGREMI national measurement institutes (NMI’s), knowledge institutes and industrial partners work together on the improvement of existing and development of new measurement techniques for emissions from animal husbandry. In this the NMI’s aim on improved, SI-traceable calibration gasses and characterisation and optimalisation of measurement equipment used in barns. These will also be used to evaluate and improve sensors to be further developed by the industrial partners.

Knowledge institutes provide input to it and will facilitate field comparisons in the second part of the project (measurements in dairy, pigs and around farms for deposition). This leads to lower measurement uncertainties and new measurement methods, with which emissions can better/more accurately be established. Also calculation rules or models will be improved by which a transition from means to goal oriented prescriptions for ammonia emissions from barns gets closer. By being able to quantify the methane emissions, also action perspectives for reduction thereof and thus a lower carbon footprint of animal husbandry emerges.
