STRATUS - AdviSor neTwork foR optimAl ferTilisers USe
STRATUS aims to connect advisors across Europe for accelerating knowledge creation and sharing on Integrated Fertilization Management. Besides STRATUS aims to support farmers to bring this knowledge into practice, thus reducing nutrient losses to the environment while maintaining soil fertility.
The STRATUS-project aims at reducing nutrient losses to improve water quality to the Water Framework objectives while maintaining soil fertility and efficient crop production.
For this, STRATUS will:
- Create an EU-wide advisory network. Within the network three transnational sub-networks are created on Precision farming, Bio-based fertilisers and Soil quality;
- Collect and assess the feasibility of 104 Good Practices and Research Innovations on optimal fertiliser use and identify at least 48 Best Practices;
- Create 10 Communities of Practices. This ensures the integration of the advisors in the MS AKIS as well as the adaptation of the project work to the local conditions;
- Develop 60 demonstrations and training material that will facilitate advisors to exchange knowledge, experiences and key challenges for advisory practice;
- Create a digital platform to make the generated knowledge in STRATUS available to the target groups of the project (advisors and with that to farmers).
