Social Sciences aims to understand and support transitions in the socio-economic domain and has payed particular attention in contributing to the following themes and cross-cutting topics.

We contribute to WUR’s mission & ambition in the above themes by:

  1. Developing a better disciplinary, interdisciplinary, and transdisciplinary understanding of the social, economic, political and communicative dynamics that reproduce global challenges or facilitate transition;
  2. Offering guidance and decision support to policy and practice;
  3. Enhancing critical reflection and capacity development in society; and,
  4. Educating BSc, MSc students and training PhD candidates and professionals that are able to support the above mentioned aimed contributions.
