Green Growth based on Marine Resources: Ecological and Socio-Economic Constraints (GreenMar) funded by NordForsk

ENR is part of an international consortium addressing the fundamental challenge of how to use our renewable natural resources more efficiently while ensuring that the ecosystems retain their functionality. The GreenMAR network aims at understanding to what extent the ecological and social components of complex marine systems are capable of adapting to growing stress factors, like fishing or climate change, to provide corresponding management recommendations that can ensure green growth.

GreenMar proposes to integrate different essential disciplines that need to be integrated to achieve green. We investigate how the ecological and social components of complex marine systems can adapt to the growing stress factors, and provide management recommendations for improved harvesting strategies.
