Lars Kwakman is a junior researcher Law & Circular Construction at the Law Group of Wageningen University. He holds degrees in law (BA University of Amsterdam, 2017), legal theory & socio-legal studies (MA Erasmus University Rotterdam, 2020) and international technology law (MA Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, 2022).

Lars’ main interest is in climate justice, and how, or if, this can be achieved within the current world system. With an emphasis on the legal-structural obstacles that stand in the way of true sustainability, his research has focused on the relation between the rule of law, ecologically unequal exchange and technology as a social phenomenon. Currently he works within the CircuLaw project doing research on how law and policy can stimulate the transition towards circular timber construction in the Netherlands.
