Facilitating MSPs and social learning in Nicaragua
Achieving real change and tackling real world issues require partnerships. But bringing about collaborative work between a wide range of people and organisations with various backgrounds is no simple matter. The overarching concept ‘Multi-stakeholder partnerships’ builds on the premise that different groups can share a common problem, aspiration, or even conflict while having different interests or ‘stakes’.
For more than a decade, the Centre for Development Innovation (CDI) has been running an annual three-week international course on facilitating MSPs and social learning. Our approach to MSPs is rooted in a wealth of experience from hundreds of course participants and CDI’s development projects taking place around the Globe. Versions of the course have also been tailor-made for numerous clients across business, government, and civil society.
On this occasion, CDI organised the course to strengthen the capacity of CLARA (Caribbean and Latin America regional Alliance) partners from Colombia, Nicaragua and Guatemala in the design and facilitation of multi-stakeholder processes in the fields of child and youth protection, education, and Sustainable Economic Development. The course took place in Managua, Nicaragua.

Woord en Daad is an international NGO that connects people around the world and supports them throughout their fight against poverty and injustice. They work in alliances with partner organisations in Africa, Asia, Central and South America and The Netherlands. One of the six alliances that Woord en Daad supports is CLARA.
Upon CLARA's request, CDI designed and delivered a five-day course for CLARA partners. Four partners from three different countries attended the course: CDA (Colombia), AMG (Guatemala), INDEF and PAC (Nicaragua).
