Answers
You can read all of the questions and answers below.
Back to topHow can I use this data?
The goal is to generate richer and deeper insights on consumption patterns compared to the datasets that are currently available. Some examples include trends, consumption times, geographical differences and combinations between motives and consumption.
Back to topHow reliable is the data?
Researchers at Wageningen University & Research conducted several studies to ensure the reliability of the data. The app asks consumers to enter everything they have had to eat and drink in the last two hours. This provides more reliable insights into consumption patterns than current research studies. Other methods use a 24-hour format, which has a bigger margin of error as consumers may struggle to remember what they ate.
Back to topIs the research group representative?
Yes, we pay research agencies to recruit representative groups of respondents. Of course, this only applies to consumers who have an Apple or Android smartphone, which means for example there may be considerably fewer older participants.
