Reference institute
Wageningen Food Safety Research is a national and European Reference institute. This means that Wageningen Food Safety Research must assure the research of substances in food by developing and safeguarding methods and knowledge.
Wageningen Food Safety Research is a national reference laboratory (NRL) for the control of residues, toxins, GMOs and contaminants in food and feed and food borne viruses.
Wageningen Food Safety Research is also an European Reference Laboratory for the measurement of:
- growth hormones in animal products
- mycotoxins and plant toxins
