Arctic ecological research
9 - 19 June 2012
Martine van den Heuvel-Greve from IMARES and Nico van den Brink of Alterra have started with their Arctic ecological research in Ny-Ålesund. This includes visits to research facilities, networking and conducting exploratory fieldwork in coastal waters and on the tundra of Svalbard.
In April 2012 Wageningen UR launched the project 'TripleP @ Sea - Arctic Sustainable Developments'. Two researchers travel to Svalbard, an archipelago within the Arctic Circle located north of Norway.
The research lasts from 9 June to 19 June 2012, including a visit of eight days to the research station in Ny-Ålesund in the north west of Svalbard. In Ny-Ålesund, the researchers stay at the Dutch Arctic Station, which is operated by the Arctic Centre of the University of Groningen in the Netherlands.
