Nils Bloem and Lars van Garderen are students at the Van Hall Larenstein University of Applied Sciences in Leeuwarden. The final project for their Bachelor's degree in ‘Coastal Zone Management’ was conducted under guidance of the North Sea Foundation. During the project they teamed up with their friend Sicco Visser to produce a short film titled ‘Plastic in Zee’ (Dutch spoken).
They joined a North Sea expedition during which ghost nets on shipwrecks were removed and microplastics were gathered. They also filmed the fulmar research at IMARES Texel.
