The Greenhouse Horticulture and Flower Bulbs Business Unit of Wageningen University & Research and educational parties are working on a digital teaching module on soil and fertilization in bulb cultivation. In addition, the Kennisbank (Knowledge Base) on the website of Bollenacademie (Bulb Academy) will be filled with up-to-date information about soil and fertilization. More over digital tools will be created for bulb growers.

Bulb cultivation is becoming increasingly knowledge-intensive. Fortunately, a lot of knowledge is already available. To safeguard that knowledge, Bollenacademie developed a series of books and courses for employees of bulb growers. These can be found at www.bollenacademie.nl.

In the coming years, specific knowledge about soil and fertilization will also be recorded, so that growers, their employees and students can easily find and consult it. This step is in line with the vision of the future of bulb cultivation ('Vitale Teelt 2030'). Knowledge about soil and fertilization plays a crucial role in vision.

WUR and educational parties are working together to expand the Kennisbank of Bollenacademie with knowledge about soil and fertilization. In addition, digital tools for bulb growers will be released. There will also be a digital teaching module on soil and fertilization. In addition, WUR, education and the business community are investigating how this knowledge can be brought into the limelight in a good interactive manner, for example with a MOOC or a web-based study. The BollenBodem project is financed by Colland.
