On June 16 and 17 we celebrate 100 years WUR in the city with a sparkling festival for young and old alike. Everybody is welcome!
The roofs will come off the city during the swinging facade concerts from the houses in the city centre and a performance of De Ontzetting student orchestra. The outdoor film Mama Mia! The Movie changes the market square into a stage for a multiphonic city choir. So, wet your whistle, bring your own chair and let your voice be heard.
Saturday at noon Mayor Geert van Rumund and Louise Fresco (WUR) start the festival with coffee and cake. Young and old play XXL games and student associations hold Open House. Anyone who feels the child in them is invited to help and decorate the city with the creation of a colourful garland with 100 flags.
On Sunday you can savour 100 cultures, sounds, flavours and colours on the Global Village Market followed by a sociable Potluck BBQ. Take your favourite food, share it with your neighbours and enjoy meeting new people and tasting surprising dishes. With Mango y Ramos (Baobab Music).
Join in and enjoy the best of both worlds.
