Award winnings for René and Gerjanne, Landscape Architecture students

The annual thesis award 'Netwerk Land & Water, De Folkert Hellinga MSc Award 2012', was won by the Wageningen students Landscape Architecture Gerjanne Brink and René van Seumeren. The jury decided unanimously to award them the price for their thesis "Revitalizing Zeeuws-Vlaanderen: a landscape design experiment for the shrinking and climate sensitive region of Zeeuws-Vlaanderen". In the thesis the vulnerabilities of the region (shrinkage, climate change) are taken as a starting point for a positive vision for the future . The jury pointed out the clear argumentation, the originality and feasibility as strengths.

The thesis was established under supervision of Dr. Ingrid Duchhart. Prof. Adri van den Brink and Rudi van Etteger were members of the examination committee.

During the ceremony at Valkenburg Airbase in Katwijk on Friday, April 19th, the students received a certificate, 750 euros and a subscription to a magazine (own choice).
