On this page, you can find the latest updates relevant for the majority of our personnel, students and partners. Detailed information is provided via email or by supervisors.
Wageningen University & Research complies with measures advised and communicated by the Dutch National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM), the Dutch government, the local health authority GGD and the travel policy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Over the past months, there was a weekly update. From now on, we will issue an update whenever there are developments that affect WUR’s corona policy. Please refer to the protocol (right hand side of this page) and the FAQ-list (via button below).

Update 22 July 2021
First and foremost, we stress that the basic measures to mitigate the spread of the virus remain in effect until further notice. Wash your hands regularly, maintain a 1.5-metre distance from others. If you have corona-related symptoms, stay at home and get tested.
1.5 meters, or face mask
As WUR employees, we are jointly responsible for protecting ourselves, our colleagues and our students during our work.
- Face masks are no longer mandatory when moving through a building. However, the social distancing requirement remains in effect. So, please wear a face mask if there is a chance people may not keep sufficient distance.
- Use the self-tests twice a week.
Working from home
Following the debate in the House of Representatives about Corona on July 14, the Cabinet has decided that as of July 19, 2021, the advice will be to work from home again, unless there is really no other option. This advice is adopted for working at WUR. In concrete terms, this often means that office work is mainly done from home. Look for the most recent measures on this page with the WUR protocol.
The option to order self-tests (via the site: www.zelftestonderwijs.nl) will expire on 1 August. Instead, Higher Education will receive self-tests from the government/OCW for dissemination. These will be distributed by WUR itself from 1 August. There will be (self-service) containers for this at each WUR location. As soon as the inventory has been completed, we will inform you where these self-service bins will be placed.
Maximum group size and events
As of 26 June, there are no longer any restrictions for group size, neither indoors nor outdoors. Indoors the MCC is the leading factor (both at room level as for the entire building). Outside, the 1.5-metre distancing rule remains in effect. Booking rooms/spaces in advance, through the normal procedures, is necessary.
For larger gatherings (outside as well) the following applies:
- Guests seated 1.5 metres apart
- Registration and health check
- One or more people in the organising team to be appointed as corona stewards to monitor compliance with the rules.
(Deparment) Meetings, inside and outside, are allowed again. The maximum Corona capacity determines the number of participants.
Requests for outdoor gatherings may be sent to the Servicedesk Facilities
