tomatoes in a greenhouse

Project

Effective disease and plague management

The presence of pest organisms on horticultural products can cause decay. Meanwhile, the presence of chemical pesticides causes unsafe products.

To optimize disease and pest management in greenhouses detection at a very early stage is desirable. The current tests are time consuming and not always give an unambiguous results. The aim of this project is to develop tests for a rapid, sensitive detection of bacteria, fungi, viruses, nematodes, insects into air, water, plants, substrate, et cetera. These tests use sensors with biomolecules "glued" on it.
