Farewell P.A.A. Loof and A.M.T. Bongers

On the occasion of the retirement of Drs. P.A.A. (Piet) Loof, who has been active as nematode taxonomist at our laboratory from 1955 onwards, and the early retirement of Dr. Ir. A.M.T. (Tom) Bongers, who will remain involved on a part-time basis in education and in the maintenance of the nematode collection, the Laboratory of Nematology will organize a mini-symposium on Friday the 19th of October 2007. Here, close colleagues will look back on the development of nematode taxonomy and ecology over the last decades, and the contributions of Piet and Tom to these areas.
