Marinus Pannevis (1962) is Global Applied Science Leader at Mars Petcare and obtained his MSc from the Department of Animal Science at Wageningen University, the Netherlands in 1988.After working two years as a research assistant at the Zoology Department of the University of Aberdeen, Scotland, he joined in 1990 the Waltham Centre for Pet Nutrition (part of Mars Petcare) as companion animal nutritionist based in the UK. Since 1994, he has fulfilled a number of R&D roles for the Mars Petcare business. Since 2009 he leads the Global Applied Science & Technology Program on Pet Feeding Performance for Mars Petcare, elucidating the interaction between raw material properties, industrial process conditions and the flavour chemistry that impact short and long term feeding responses of pets.Since a number of years, he also acts as chairman of the Technical Committee of the Dutch Pet food Association (NVG) which reviews novel European Feed Legislation and ensures these are in line with the specificities of the Pet food Industry. In this capacity, he represents the Dutch Pet food Industry at the European Pet food Federation (FEDIAF) for all technical matters and policies related to Companion animal nutrition, good practices for Communication to EU Consumers, Feed Safety legislation, and Raw Material and Additive legislation.
