Natural resource governance (water and climate) - Art Dewulf
Art Dewulf’s particular niche in public administration research consists of the study of complex problems of natural resource governance, particularly the governance of water resources and climate adaptation.
The focus is on interactive processes of framing, conflict and collaboration in these governance processes. At the interdisciplinary interface between organization science, public administration and policy science, and communication science, questions about decision making, societal steering and interactive communication can be addressed in an integrated way, and applied to understanding the role of framing in complex problems of natural resource governance.
The governance of complex natural resource issues is a broad and rapidly developing research domain and new governance approaches are developed and tested out. Art’s contribution is primarily to the governance capabilities of reflexivity, resilience and scale-sensitivity.
