Wageningen University has appointed three members of staff to the position of professor holding a personal chair: Dr Hedwig te Molder (Strategic Communication), Dr Henk Schols (Food Chemistry) and Dr Geert Wiegertjes (Cell Biology and Immunology). The appointments are for a period of five years and became effective on 1 September 2013.

The post of professor holding a personal chair is awarded to researchers with an excellent track record in research and education. Being full professors, they are eligible to supervise young researchers (PhD candidates), thereby increasing awareness of their field within and outside the organisation.
