Join this online session on 24 November 2020 | 10:30-12:00 CET. This session is co-organised by World Resource Institute and Wageningen University & Research and part of the virtual pre-event Bold Actions for Food as Force for Good which serves as a key milestone leading to the UN Food Systems Summit 2021.
Goals of this session
Around a third of all food is lost or wasted between the farm and plate, resulting in approximately 8% greenhouse gas emissions, ΒΌ of all water used in agriculture and requires land greater than the size of China annually. Change is needed. Will you become part of that change?
In September 2020, the Champions 12.3 (a coalition of executives committed to helping the world achieve a 50% reduction in food loss and waste by 2030) issued a three-point call to action in order to achieve this aim. This session will dive into the call to action, and in particular its focus on connecting food loss and waste reduction with climate mitigation strategies.
