Animal Husbandry, Chickens or Cows
This research came from an initiative from the company FanCom. A simple model for the growth of chicken is made to estimate the growth based on the feed and water consumption. This model has to be further developed to include maintenance, and to predict the final chicken weight. The model is also used to produce alarms for the farmer in case of feed or water supply problems or illnesses. Ideally a feed supply advisor program should be able to advise the farmer to obtain a good final chicken weight, while maintaining the health of the chicken.
Enhance model for chicken growth: split into 2 models and include maintenance (Van Ooteghem)
Optimize feed supply on final chicken weight (Van Ooteghem)
Cows are fed individually based on measurements of their milk quantity and quality. A simple model has been developed. We want to improve this further into an optimal feed system based on milk quantity and quality.
