Introduction
Wybe van Halsema is based in Kigali, where he continues his thesis work about the development of competence based education in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Profile
Wybe van Halsema (1960) is trained in Forestry and Land and Water Management at BSc-level at Larenstein college (1982). After fifteen years of mainly working in Africa in this field, he obtained his Master degree in South Afrika in Development Studies, followed by a post-master degree in Education at Radboud University Nijmegen (2005).
He was linked to Larenstein University of Professional Education in Velp between 2005 and 2011. In 2007 he took up his PhD-study in parallel to his job as lecturer and international consultant in educational development projects in Africa, Asia and South America.
Research
Wybe Halsema left Larenstein in September 2011 to take up a job as Programme (co-) Manager in the field of vocational education and training in Rwanda, for the Belgian development agency BTC.
He is based in Kigali, where he continues his thesis work about the development of competence based education in Sub-Saharan Africa.
