Deforestation in the Brazilian Amazon

One of the major problems in the Brazilian Amazon region is deforestation - as is widely known and recognized. The Agrarian Reform program has been the main factor to expand the number of people in the region, converting forest areas, especially for pasture expansion. Milk production has been an important activity in small farms, but most studies concentrated on beef cattle.

Topics for an MSc research should focus on the relationship agricultural practices, livelihoods, land use and forest dynamics.
