DocuScience: The Invisible Extinction

Microbes are everywhere. Although they can not be seen by the naked eye, they are essential for our survival. They are, however, vanishing from our planet, which is the key message of the award-winning documentary “The Invisible Extinction”. The film joins two microbiologists on the urgent quest around the world to show us the overuse of antibiotics, elective C-sections and processed foods which are driving the destruction of our inner ecology. This documentary is selected by UNLOCK, a research infrastructure facilitating research on microbial communities, which is based at WUR and Delft University of Technology. Through this DocuScience, UNLOCK would like to emphasize the importance of our microbial friends.
