Five questions concerning the impact of the loss of containers from the vessel MSC Zoë

Wageningen Marine Research investigates toxic substances and plastic debris and their impact on life in our marine waters. In the night of 1 to 2 January, during a northwestern storm, the container vessel MSC Zoë lost 291 freight containers in the shipping lane just north of the Dutch Wadden Islands. Our marine investigators try to answer questions on the five most frequently asked question in relation to the incident.
