Gifts to the collection of WUR Library
The Library welcomes gifts to its collection. We kindly ask that your contribution meet the following criteria to ensure an optimal workflow. Please note that the Library reserves the right to decline gifts.
When does the Library accept a gift?
- The benefactor is or has been employed by Wageningen University & Research (WUR) or one of its predecessors.
- The material is not yet available in the Library’s collection.
- The material fits within Wageningen University & Research’s research and education fields, i.e. agriculture, environment, and health & nutrition.
- Publications that are to be donated have been created by WUR or its predecessors or have been co-authored by a WUR researcher.
- Supplements to our active or discontinued journals/series will be accepted only if they fill an important gap in the collection.
- The material becomes the library’s property and can be made available to its users.
The Library will not accept the following material
- Reprints, folders, brochures and other such material.
- Old theses and student reports.
- Dissertations from other universities, or reports from non-Wageningen, University & Research institutes.
- Unsolicited drop-offs of any material.
Old and rare material
For pre-1900, rare, or unique materials, special rules apply. We kindly request you to contact our Special Collections team for further guidance.
Step-by-step
1. Check if the material to be donated follows the abovementioned criteria
2. Fill in the donation form and send it to library.collections@wur.nl
3. We’ll contact you shortly to let you know if the donation can be accepted and discuss further details.
