Student testimonial
Hilde - When I graduate I am willing to work as an adviser of primary businesses, to be the link bonding the sector and the scientific field.
I studied Equine Management at Van Hall Larenstein (which is an institute in Wageningen) during my Bachelor education and because of that reason my choice to continue in Wageningen University was an easy one. One of the reasons is the location and the other is the fact that these two institutions already work together. Furthermore, WUR has a really good connection with the agricultural sector and accordingly the horse industry I’m interested in.
Therefore, now I am doing Management, Economics and Consumer Studies and my specialization is MLS- Management, Innovation and Life Sciences.
MLS gives you the opportunity to fill the gap between farmers and scientists with skills and economic knowledge in the sphere and actually help people in making their business profitable. When I graduate I am willing to work as an adviser of primary businesses, to be the link bonding the sector and the scientific field. For that I think that the worldwide reputation of Wageningen University would help me to a great degree.
In relation to the educational system here, I would say that generally I am very satisfied- a lot of the professors are both very enthusiastic and active; the facilities are on a high level- there are libraries and computers everywhere; the system is flexible and liberal - you have many options of subjects and modules to choose from. About the city of Wageningen I can say that indeed it is small, yet this is exactly what makes you feel at home, like in your own home town, no matter if it is situated in the other end of the globe. This feeling of “safety” is an inseparable part of the characteristic features of Wageningen and one of its biggest strengths.
