Internship BASF

Master Thesis at BASF SE

We are looking for a master student that is interested in conducting a research project in the Formulation Platform in BASF central research.

Topic of the thesis:

There is great need for advanced delivery systems that can physically prevent oxidative breakdown and deliver active ingredients to a specific area. In this thesis we want to investigate novel delivery systems based on controlling the structure of lipid crystalline particles. Formation of these delivery systems is based on chemical/physical principles and is on the cutting edge of delivery systems with designed structure. During the studies we will investigate the influence of materials on structure formation and properties of the particles.

Candidate profile:

The successful candidate has excellent academic credentials in a field such as food technology, physical chemistry of emulsions and interfaces, or a related engineering discipline. First experience with working in a research laboratory is required. A pronounced can-do attitude, the ability to work independently as part of a team, and fluency in English are prerequisites.

The experimental work will primarily be conducted in Ludwigshafen. There will be appropriate financial support to the student.  The starting date is to be agreed on (but needs to be in 2012).

If you are interested please contact Dr. Paul Venema and enclose a CV, letter of motivation, and a summary of academic grades.
