Introduction to Practical English
Would you like to improve your speaking and listening skills in English? This course is particularly suitable as preparation for work, studies or an internship abroad.
The focus of the course is on practical skills, but ample attention is also given to English culture.
Classes take place on the Wageningen UR Campus, in the Forum building.
Target group
Introduction to Practical English is for anyone who wants to acquire a solid foundation in English in a short amount of time.

Contents
The following topics are included in the course:
- Introducing yourself
- Providing personal information
- Explaining yourself to others: asking and answering questions
- Establishing grammar, vocabulary foundation
- Practising pronunciation
- Reading and writing basics
Planning
This course runs for 13 classes. There will be 1 weekly class of 1 hour and 45 minutes. In addition to the classes, you will be spending 2 to 3 hours on homework each week.

Certification
You receive a Wageningen in’to Languages certificate upon completion of the course.

Prior to registration: placement test
To make sure everyone is placed in the right course, new course participants are obliged to take the free Oxford Online Placement Test. This particular course requires a score between 20 and 40. Please note: registration cannot be confirmed without a placement test result. Arrange an appointment through our online calendar.
