Expertise
Mechanistic physiology focussing on energy metabolism, adipose tissue and lung and modulation by bioactive food components. Transcriptomics and functional, biochemical and histochemical assays are applied to understand the effects of dietary exposure (polyphenols, carotenoids and other bioactive food components) on energy metabolism. Studies are performed in humans, animals and cells.
