Making the healthy food choice, the easy choice

Many people have the goal to eat healthily, but experience difficulties in regulating their healthy eating behavior on a day to day basis. They want to watch their weight, but can’t resist a delicious chocolate pie when offered one. Or they plan to eat a salad during lunch, but end up eating a tasty sausage roll instead.

Strategies are needed that may help people to eat healthily, that do not require constant and conscious efforts, but that make healthy choices the easy choice. Environmental cues, nudges, or heuristics may have the potential to make the healthy choice, the impulsive choice. However research in this domain is just started to emerge, and there are many opportunities for theses on this topic.
