Moroccan Dreams: colonial and post-colonial landscapes

By prof. Claudio Minca & dr. Lauren Wagner - We examine the role of the Protectorate government, particularly as it was designed and led by Resident-General Lyautey, in forming the physical and ideological spaces for tourism in a series of Moroccan cities. This historical perspective is placed in juxtaposition with contemporary experiences and readings of Moroccan landscapes through a ‘European tourist’ perspective and other potential readings of these spaces.
