Arrangements for governance towards environmental sustainability and equity in Thailand (OIL PALM PhD project 6)
This subproject contributes to understanding local-national and local-global dynamics on environmental sustainability and equity.
Aim
In this subproject existing and future governance mechanisms and practices that impact the sustainability of palm oil production, processing and trade in Thailand will be analyzed. The existing national mechanisms and practices will be studied in order to determine how they relate to transboundary governance dynamics through different private and governmental initiatives, and with actual practices at the local level. On the basis of this assessment, multiple options to enhance environmental sustainability and equity in the palm oil supply chain will be identified and compared.
