Organic Chemistry & WFSR @ the TEKNOWLOGY – NWO Innovation Festival Edition 2023
On June 27th, delegations from the Lab of Organic Chemistry and Wageningen Food Safety research traveled from Wageningen to participate in the NWO TecKNOWlogy event in DeFabrique in Utrecht. The location at an old factory was a very nice backdrop for the presentation of very diverse emerging technologies from the Netherlands, in many cases supported by NWO funding. During lectures, experts from various fields shared their insights on the future of technology and how collaborative efforts can fuel technological advancements and drive societal change. The discussions highlighted the transformative power of technology and emphasized the need for cross-sector partnerships to address global challenges effectively.
One of the highlights of the festival was the collection of exposition stands. We were well-represented and demonstrated some of the latest prototypes developed by our research groups, which focused on the development of on-site analytical devices, to provide affordable and portable solutions. At our stand, we invited attendees to try out some of those prototypes, which led to a lot of nice interactions and good discussions.
In addition to the networking opportunities throughout the festival, we really enjoyed the exciting pitches: researchers and innovators had the chance to present their project idea’s to a panel of distinguished experts. The pitches covered a wide range of topics, from sustainable energy solutions to biomedical advancements, showcasing the wide scope of the TEKNOWLODGY festival. Overall, the festival served as a catalyst for collaboration, inspiration, and knowledge sharing, and we are looking forward to the next edition!
