Amino acids from hydrolysis of biomass proteins are interesting feedstocks for chemical industry due to their functionalities. Electrodialysis could separate them, but modification of those with charge similarities is required. Modification should generate useful products so an in-situ product removal process could be built to save energy and process steps.
