Sensing Age
At Wageningen University & Research, we aim to uncover data-driven nutritional strategies that slow down biological aging. Rather than solely focusing on so-called “extreme agers” (individuals who live exceptionally long and healthy lives), Sensing Age leverages extensive population datasets to identify dietary patterns that appear most promising in counteracting aging processes.
We approach this research from a hypothesis-free standpoint, allowing our analyses to reveal new connections and insights into how eating behaviours influence healthy aging. Once the most robust findings emerge, we will move these insights into clinical studies to validate their potential for real-world impact. Ultimately, Sensing Age strives to translate large-scale data analytics into practical, evidence-based interventions that can help people lead longer, healthier lives.
