Traveling abroad during your stay in Wageningen

As an international visitor in Wageningen you may want to explore some of the surrounding European countries as well. Internationals in possession of a valid residence permit are allowed to return to the Netherlands without any problems.

If you intend to visit another country, please check the visa requirements well in advance. Please note that some countries have strict rules regarding the validity of the Dutch residence permit.

You should also remember to bring your residence permit with you when you leave the Netherlands. If you travel abroad without a valid residence permit card, you will be refused entrance to the Netherlands upon your return.

A Dutch Residence Permit grants entry without visa into the Schengen countries of the European Union, for a maximum of 3 months. If you intend to stay in a Schengen countrty longer than 3 months, you must check the visa requirements of that specific country in advance. When staying in the Netherlands shorter than 3 months, check which countries the visa is valid on the website of Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
