Webinar

WUR Library essentials: Recognising questionable and predatory journals

In this webinar, we'll explore the rising concerns about questionable publishing practices, the grey area between responsible publishing and fraudulent behaviour. Why, at a first glance, can publishing in these “grey area” journals be attractive? What may be the eventual consequences for you as a researcher and for science in general? We'll discuss common characteristics of questionable – and predatory - journals, and focus on tools and checklists to check the trustworthiness of a journal. After this webinar, you'll know how to recognise and avoid questionable and predatory journals.
