Student Management, Economics and Consumer Studies Prior Education: Business Administration and Agribusiness, CAH Vilentum
My Bachelor’s at the University of Applied Sciences was mainly focussed on starting a company in the agricultural sector. For the half part my study discussed the agricultural aspect. The other half was about the financial aspect of undertaking, with different topics like: financial management, strategic management, company takeover plans en how this could all be financed. My minor, International Company Leadership, was focussed on leading a large scale company abroad. This was supported with two internships abroad.
Choice for the Master’s Management, Economics and Consumer Studies
As time went by I realised that I was less interested in the agricultural aspect than in the financial and strategic aspects of a company. I wanted to learn more about the latter two. After my Bachelor’s at the University of Applied Sciences, which I had passed with quite some ease, I went looking for a new challenge to enhance my knowledge. During my search I found two Master’s to my liking: Management, Economics and Consumer Studies at Wageningen University of at Nijenrode University. In the end I chose for Wageningen because I wanted to study abroad for an additional half a year.
Up until know I find that this master is a good addition to my previous education. It certainly has been a challenge, but I have achieved what I had hoped to. Also, fortunately the transition to English was very doable, even though my English wasn’t very good to start with. Regarding atmosphere Wageningen compares well to what I was used to and this, to me, makes it a good continuation of my Bachelors!
